Facebook Christmas Tree warnings?

Several messages have been spread as a warning about a Christmas Tree application on Facebook. All of the messages observed have come from the Mafia Wars community. One of the quickest "tells" about that this could be a bogus report is the citing of a source. Usually in "hoax" messages, a source is quoted, like Microsoft, IBM, McAfee or Snopes. In this message, the source of the warning is said to be The Geek Squad. While it is possible that there is "A" Christmas Tree Facebook presence that some low life attached to malware like Thinkpoint or fake-antivirus, it has yet to be seen where this is a widespread as mentioned in the message or as being reported directly by he source itself. That said, safe computer practices are always encouraged.
